Cheap small parts storage

Years ago, I bought out the inventory of a local hardware dealer for Lawson Products upon his retirement. I got a large selection of small parts drawers, hardware bins and wall cabinets, but I've wanted to expand it and better organize. I've looked everywhere for deals on more of the drawer units and drawers. I was seeing price of 100-140 per drawer, so I never bought anything. Well I was pretty shocked when I created a business account with Lawson and saw how cheap they are! And they will match what I have now.

Prices are in CDN, they had the cheapest shipping ever at $20 for 8 big boxes at over 100lbs, Ordered on Sunday, delivered on Wednesday via Loomis express. A very nice lady called me on Monday to assess my future needs and setup a direct line of communication. Super impressed. Everything shipped from Canada, although they are an American company.

They look really impressive Darren. But it's a bit hard for me to see how they integrate with each other. Are those drawers that fit into a bigger cabinet or stacking?

In this Pic, you can see part of my current setup. I'll update it later

I have two of those pigeon nesting cabinets on the left of your photo. It's cumbersome for me. One of these days I'm gunna clean up in front of it so I can actually use it properly.

The biggest issue is keeping stuff in order. You fill it up and then get ten 3/8 unf screws but there is no pigeon nest for them in the right place. I hate it when that happens.

Luckily, the dealer I bought mine from had it all setup already with separate bin units for unc, unf, and metric.

The drawers are loaded with machine screws, fittings, and other automotive related hardware like bulbs, fuses and wire connectors. I ran out of room to be able to sort and organize. I'm adding another dozen or so drawyer units today so I should be good for a while!

When I first set up my Bolt Depot “frames” & Plano boxes 6 years ago I left empty spaces, but ended up adding 10 more boxes worth of storage and rearranging everything last year (with spaces available).

It never ends!

They look similar to these:
The one thing I like about the Princess Auto ones is that the bins are removable.

But the Lawson ones are a much better price.
Thanks for that lead Darren. I'm super impressed.

when I created a business account with Lawson
Oh, I get you now. You created a BA with this specific vendor. I'm learning to inquire about this with vendors. Often it doesn't cost anything, and/or better shipping/billing options, and/or no minimum purchase amounts (although some may review annual account activity from time to time & show you the door). Did you have to provide a GST# ? That can be the clincher

I thought you were inferring Amazon BA, which I've also heard of. But that's a different animal.

sorry for side track

I created an account with Lawson just using my business name. No GST # required.

I have wanted a drawer setup like the lawson ones you bought for years but whenever I saw them for sale they were stupid expensive for the metal rack with 4 drawers. I believe it was around $350 or something like that so I never really looked at them again. I just figured they were one of those things that businesses can justify the expense of and a hobbyist with a low budget could only dream of.
