Canox C250E AC-DC Welder

Picked up this old welder the other day. I think they were made by Miller and badged Canox. Same as the Miller Dialarc welder. Made in Canada!
It’s got a heavy cart under it. I will probably put my old Miller CP 200 mig on top of it. I just need to make a gas bottle support.

First thing I would do is remove the whole cover, take it outside and blow it out with compressed air.
I'll bet there is a whole warren of dust bunnies in there.

If you can read the serial number, hop over to Miller's website and run it through their search engine in their Manuals and downloads section.

Usually only the operators manual, but sometimes that include wiring diagrams and parts lists as well. Worth a look, IMO.

I picked up a Acklands branded Miller 225 Diesel Bobcat a few years ago, off of Crown Assets, got the owners manual direct off the site, and scored a copy of the factory troubleshooting and Service manual from a helpful member on a Welding forum (weldingweb) .

Too much information always beats not enough! :)

Years ago, I removed the cowling on my Electrohome 225AC welder and found not only dust but the outer winding of the variable transformer had hundreds of weld spatter crapola welded to it. I spent a couple of hours removing them with a sharp chisel and hammer. I don't know why it didn't short out.
