  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. wow! That looks like a beautiful lathe, and metric-only? Perfection!! If I hadn't just bought a lathe, I'd be arranging pickup right now.

ok, I may despise imperial, just a tiny, little bit, having grown up and learnt machining outside NA.
 
Yup, I own one. It's a step up from a south bend. Cabinet is a full 3/16th steel, door are heavy gage, very solid. I run mine off 3 phase with a VFD and get the full range of RPM up to 2k with no belt changes. If you get a tight one you can do some pretty good work on it.
 
And I thought you were being sarcastic lol. Yes, I'd still pay that if I was looking for one. If the guy spent a day cleaning it up he could easily get that.
 
I was actually contemplating driving to Peachland to buy it at $2k, but it was gone by the time I made up my mind. It’s still interesting, but I’d want a pretty good discount since I know the markup.
