  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. wow! That looks like a beautiful lathe, and metric-only? Perfection!! If I hadn't just bought a lathe, I'd be arranging pickup right now.

ok, I may despise imperial, just a tiny, little bit, having grown up and learnt machining outside NA.
 
Yup, I own one. It's a step up from a south bend. Cabinet is a full 3/16th steel, door are heavy gage, very solid. I run mine off 3 phase with a VFD and get the full range of RPM up to 2k with no belt changes. If you get a tight one you can do some pretty good work on it.
 
And I thought you were being sarcastic lol. Yes, I'd still pay that if I was looking for one. If the guy spent a day cleaning it up he could easily get that.
 
I was actually contemplating driving to Peachland to buy it at $2k, but it was gone by the time I made up my mind. It’s still interesting, but I’d want a pretty good discount since I know the markup.
