Bought my first lathe.

It seems to have very little use, and in good shape. I'm hoping to get a DRO and a QCTP for it. Just not sure what to buy or where to buy. The Amazon ones seem temping but not sure if they're worth the money.

My back ground in machining is some courses at Nait.

Welcome from Vancouver!

Even a cheap DRO is better than no DRO. I've had perfectly good results with $300 eBay DROs. The money you save on a low-cost DRO use to buy a good QCTP.

Welcome. That lathe looks in real nice shape and that brand was one of the earlier decent quality Taiwanese lathes.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. Little update.

The lathe also came with a steady and follow rest, a 8" 4 jaw chuck, 6" 3 jaw is on it now. Also has a big plate roughly 10", not sure what it's called. Never used one before.

Threw a dial indicator on tonight. Back lash is 2 thou and when you move it back far enough to get out the back lash, it's very repeatable and the dials are spot on.

Looks like the oil drained out of the cross slide, so I'll look into that but I need to get it unloaded first. I sprayed it tonight so it won't rust, be in the stock trailer for a few more nights.

I noticed on my cross slide the dial always has a little drip of oil on it. So I was curious if I need to take it apart and replace an o ring or seal it. This is the top view, I'm assuming it should be full of oil since the cover is there to keep chips out.
