Bitter/Sweet New Truck

Traded the old TRX this week. Sad to see 700hp go away but they gave me $107000 for it with 29000kms and 2.5 years of fun use. Got a new 2025 Rebel X. Interior actually has an even bigger screen, and passenger screen you can play games or watch movies on.

Never been a vette fan but planning on building a C6 to have something fun. I feel a C6 with 6-700hp should work fairly well.

That's a lot of truck, 6500lbs. Weighs as much as 2.5 early Mustangs (2600 lbs)

Pricey too.

I have yet to purchase a brand new car/truck, I don't imagine I ever will.

Nice truck H-G!

But I prefer a Ford  they hold their value, I usually trade my truck every five years and it trades usually around $40G so it takes the sting out of the new one!

Nice looking truck Hollow Grind.

There's too much Nanny stuff and gadgets in the new ones anymore for me to pay that much $$ for one. They sure do ride nice though. Doubtful "I" will ever buy another new vehicle of any kind, but the Wife will probably continue to buy new ones every 7-8 years, or as long as she's still commuting as much as she is.

I just finally vacated a spot in my barn getting rid of Dad's 442, so its time to start looking for a project truck now that I have a spot to put it and work on it.....I need a truck to look and work like a truck. I have no business owning something that nice lol.

I’m a sucker for a new vehicle. I’m 48 and have had 6 new trucks so far and 1 new car. My first new truck was a 2011 ram. It was $24995 no freight, no admin as per dodge deal. 4x4 4 door. Sticker on this one was just over $90k. How times have changed…

I have also had some pre 1998 12 valve Cummins, 1990 square body chevs, etc etc. I do appreciate old gear but really love ventilated seats in the summer lol.

That’s my first new truck in the background and a couple project 82 plus Camaros. Typical of what my driveway would look like in 2012. Also pic of my ol 12 valve Cummins.had a 5 speed in her.

New isn't all its cracked up to be. New only lasts a few days. I prefer to buy new and then drive it for 20+ years. As a result, there is always a pile of junk in my driveway.
Wouldn't call a 20 year old vehicle "junk". A vehicle really only starts to pay its own way at about that point. Had some great cars though the years. One of the best was a '64 Valiant. 225 ci slant 6. Paid $1000 in 1990. Put in a couple hundred to take care of deferred maintenance, and drove it for 11 years with no other repairs I couldn't take care of from my scrap parts bin. Sold it to a kid for $500 (could have asked more, but he was my god-daughter's boyfriend) when we moved 1/2 way across the country. Bought our first new car ever a few months back. It's a long story, but basically we are now on the "new car every 2 weeks for life" plan.
