Auction in Enderby BC, Dec 11

What a mess of an auction - it may sell for low $ due to that.

On the negative we still cannot use hwy 1 to get there as it is closed so it extends the drive from 500km to over 600km.

I don't know what they will do to makes lots but it doesn't look like it will will be well organized.
Lot DW-113 looks like a MINNIE Traction Engine that could be twice the size of CWilkie's machine.
Crankit - If I see something of interest to me are you game for shipping?

They do ship via Canada Post - through they want to pay $20/h for packaging. I have no idea how long it takes to package things according to them - - like I said disorganized. They should say handling say extra $5 per package etc.

I can't make out the name on the vertical knee mill - any body else recognize it? If so where are they made and what possible vintage is it (in your estimation)?

Enderby's in the Okanagan Valley just south of Sicamous - they aren't negatively affected by the lower mainland floods, so it would be about an 8.5 hour drive there.

Yes I could help arrange that with you...you're on the Island?

Crankit - I'm just to the west of Victoria. I'm looking (not hard) for a 4 or 5 inch chuck for my RT. There are a couple of neat looking machined motors that are interesting but unless they are identified and drawings are available they would be a crap shoot to buy.
How they sort this stuff will make a difference to what I'd be able to go for.

I recognize the lathe, very likely Taiwan 14x40 circa mid to late 90's. They came under different labels (mine is a similar King).
I stared at the black disc near the tailstock for a while. Guessing a collet/tool holder

The little hit and miss got me drooling.... I'm not that far, but probably don't need another project until I get a dozen or so of the ones I have going now done....o_O

That would make for a smoke'n garage sale!

Think you would have to inspect things in person. Unless they start doing things like measuring chuck diameters it will be hard to know what you are bidding on exactly. And hard to tell if you actually get the item that you bid on.

All prices with fees and taxes:
Big mill sold for 9000 CAD - a bit pricey for an older 1988 mill in AB we have https://www.kijiji.ca/v-tool-other/edmonton/tos-fnk-25-milling-machine/1585788016 a 40 taper machine by TOS (so very good) for under 5k.
Small mill sold for 4100 CAD - few hundred less then new
King lathe sold for 4000 CAD - same as private party value
12x36 lathe sold for 3500 CAD a touch more then private party

Overall prices were higher then in AB, borderline much higher.

Also auction site is super buggy - it shows "bidding complete" when original timer runs out but bidding is still going on as the "Extended timer" did not run out. Refreshing does not help. I cannot believe such huge bug went unnoticed in site development. I mean its huge.

The greatest opportunity for disappointment was in store for the buyer of the Holt model (4 cylinder inline). The intake and exhaust castings and build notes went with the Red Wing engine and the crankcase covers were in a separate lot of other misc. small engine parts. Wh o knows about the rest … That’s auctions for you.
