Expensive for a 6". But it does look decent, has a milling attachment, steady rest, micrometer stop? Looks like the steady rest clamp has been brazed back together.

Yes it does look nice but one had better want an Atlas 624 pretty bad to pay that sort of money. If you just wanted a small capable lathe, $2200 could get you much more capabilities and features with other used makes/models out there.

Yeah, that is not a 6 inch lathe. It appears to be a 1936 9 inch:

I don't know the whole story, but I believe these were replaced by the 10F series after a short time.

Yes I believe you are right. Most of the Atlas' 6 inches were 18" bed but I believe they made a 24" bed set up for armature turning. That pulley setup shown definitely is not how the 6 inches were typically setup but similar.
