I welded up a catch tray for my Atlas 7B shaper, I saw a similar setup on a YouTube video of an Atlas Shaper. I only had a piece of 16 gauge kicking around, a thinner piece of sheet metal would be fine and a couple scraps of 3/4” square tube was all needed . The catch tray keeps the shop floor clean and I have a handy place to store some cutting lubricant (WD40 for aluminum) a brush and even the crank handle.
Now I need to learn how to properly grind high speed steel to make better cutting tools, again I turn to Blondihacks, she has a great video explaining how to grind tooling for newbies like me.
Still experimenting with the shaper, there seems to be so much it can do that I have yet to learn.
