Recent discussion around real vs fake Mitutoyo. Another product line worth a look is Asimeto. I bought a 'hook' style digital scale a while back that came in handy once again. Here I'm measuring a web thickness machining inside my crankcase.
Admittedly the tool doesn't see much daylight & there are other ways to measure these kinds of inside thickness feature of course, but it's quite convenient & fast especially if you multiple parts or surfaces. Unfortunately what was say 50% Mitutoyo price at say 75% quality back when I bought it, I've noticed their price creep as well. They do have some unique calipers though that aren't as common.
