I know there is great experience and diversity in knowledge and subjects on this forum so I figure I'd ask...

I bought a couple of old junker chainsaws for fun projects. One of the the saws is a early 70's John Deere 14 saw which I understand is the same thing as a Remington SL 9.

The drive sprocket /clutch drum is chowdered on it and I haven't been able to find a new replacement.

I don't imagine it's practical or possible but am wondering if the sprocket teeth could somehow be reconditioned/replaced while keeping the clutch drum LOL.

Better yet is if anyone else has knowledge of new old stock chainsaw parts? 16847688262837556047480037680878.jpg

I used to have a John Deere 25EV and there were some parts available for it. It was also sold as an Echo CS290EVL
Not my saw but this is what it looked like.

Clean it, Tig it, hand grind it to be close enough.

The fact it has no chain brake, I'd say chuck it, but since you're thrift see above.
