6" -12" mic

I used it again today, a couple of times. It's Lufkin, that should date it. I bought off long retired Boeing machinist in Seattle . A Craig's List find that I got him to ship to the border. When I talked to him , he told me it wasn't much use, as he had rarely used it. I'm finding it pretty handy.

Are you talking about one with interchangeable anvils?

One of those items I'd like to buy someday, but truthfully anything made over 6" in my shop is usually caliper tolerances anyway, Would be handy sometimes though.

Yes, one of those interchangeable anvils ones. While they are a bit of pain to adjust , instead just the head, what with all those anvils with double nuts. At my age, I'm finding using a mic is easier than a vernier. My 12'/300mm caliper is just a Busy Bee vernier that was on sale when I bought my 12x24 lathe.
