Actually because of their configuration, they are normally referred to as 'second operation lathes' and can be seen variously as turret or tailstock form. this is missing the tailstock, which is pretty common... They usually shipped with both.

The one pictured above is an HLV version with the turret instead of a compound (I've only seen one other like it - in really bad shape) - it is the one for 2700$, and if it was here I'd make room for it....

Man that is a nice lathe! That's the 10" model (or a little less) and the longest piece is about 12", but they are super smooth, quiet and accurate beyond belief. Some like it a lot better than the Monarch 10ee for lab work to make small accurate parts.

@Hacker theya re selling 2 of the nice ones... One's in very dirty condition, however
