Don't Use FedEx for Any International Shipments

Yes, it works at US gas stations. Used it about a month ago in California.

    Bed Grind-Harrison Lathe

Yes, the gap piece on my CMT URSUS 250 is missing. The gap is 10” wide. I am in the process (very, very slow process) of making a new one. I plan on “building it up from parts” kind of like a LEGO set. The base and side walls will probably be of welded construction (base scraped after...

4140 crankshaft modifications - propeller hub build

Is this a slinger ring which is part of a case labyrinth seal? Could it be that the negative pressure (slipstream) created by the prop is “pulling” the oil past the seal when doing static runs? This could go away once the plane has some forward velocity and the pressure around the hub changes...

    2 flute or 4 flute

Would any of these work for you? Both are 7/8” (~22.23mm) and will go into a 7/8” R8 collet. The 4F is non-center cutting; the 2F is center cutting but has a definite face angle (ie, the seat won’t be perfectly flat). Send me a text if interested in trying them out.

    Metric Standard Modern 13/34 - Toronto, On - $2500

Fair enough. Wasn’t there a sale of multiple lathes a little while back on one of the auction sites? Maybe seller bought them all at the time.

    Metric Standard Modern 13/34 - Toronto, On - $2500

I would not be so sure about that… there are 2 green ones (including the one for sale) and a grey one (as seen in the background) in his shop. Typically, only schools / colleges would have a need for multiples of the same. Still, they do look ok from what can be seen in the pictures. Price is...

    Apron repair

Well done. That should be stronger then before.

    2 flute or 4 flute

Use a boring head and work your way out to 22mm? If the geometry is right, the face can cut clearance for the side of the cutter to follow. That way it would be possible to use a 1/2” or even 3/4” tool in the BH for extra rigidity.

    Apron repair

I think that repair is very reasonable. If there is a way, perhaps incorporate 2 alignment pins and two bolts. Shoulder bolts might work as well, as they can be used for precise alignment as long as both parts engage on the shoulder.
