    What can I say about the age thing? We are only as old as we feel. l will be 94 in October and still in good health. I drive my car every couple of months between Sarnia Ont. and Chicago Il to my wife's family, 600 km one way.

    Atkinson Differential Engine.

    In a diesel only air is compressed and fuel squirted in at the right time in each cylinder, like spark in a conventional engine. It takes heat and high compression ( high compression produces heat) to ignite the fuel, that is why for starting a cold engine a glow plug is used.

    Tool Keeping old outdated tools in the shop

    Yes, old mechanics have old tools. I also have a hand crank drill as described by Brian that I use with a reamer bit. Also a 1 ounce hammer.

    Old and outdated, yes. But at one time they were new and so was I. My experience with tires goes back to a time before Tubeless tires were invented. Ziggy.
