    Can you drill a magnet?

It is a ceramic magnet, so is a china plate. Practice drilling a plate first.:p I would use a cheep PA hole saw about 3/8 OD to do it.

    Spindle square

Here it is. You take the magnet off and put it on the table, and then zero both dial indicators to the top of the magnet. Remove the magnet from the pathway and then rotate and check your readings on the table in the X&Y. The bar can sweep a 10" circle at its outside hole position

Yes, it has torch height control. There is a port on the 1200 that a DIN plug wires into and this controls the firing of the torch. The trigger circuit is different for the machine torch. If you were using a hand torch, You can unhook the small black and white wires from the purple trigger wire...

    12 x 36 lathe vibration

When you have a belt flutter like that, the other thing that happens if you run it long enough, is that the pulley itself wears oval because at the high side of the bounce the belt will slip under heavy load. New link belts, new sheave, problem gone.

WTB: Hypertherm Plasma Cutter - Powermax 45/45xp or 65

You will be happy with Hypertherm. I have the Powermax 1200, and on my table I use an upgraded Duramax machine torch. I've been using it since 2006, and it just keeps on going trouble free.

    Tool Inexpensive demagnetizers?

You are right, you could do that with a 75hp motor. The motor will draw it's idle current, which may be 20-30 amps for a 75 horse though....I'm guessing on this. The fact is, you can use any single phase motor. Let's say you have a burned out pump, but the motor works, it wont pump. So take it...
