  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Request to do a small machining job

Remember that #12 wire is about 0.0808 or 2.05mm so a little too big to ride in a 2mm groove. Perhaps move the tool left/right a bit to widen the groove?

Request to do a small machining job

I assume that the 4.75mm rod is actually 3/16. I have a 3/16 reamer to ensure a proper fit of disk to rod but a 4.75mm one is rather uncommon in my experience. Is the wire actually #14 which is 0.080 rather than 2mm diameter? Or perhaps #8 which is 0.160?

    Really ?

I didn't realize that the Forester is different. On both my 2022 and 2024 Outback XT it is a menu choice on the touch screen. Of course you cannot access the menu while the warning to pay attention when driving is displayed (wait 30 seconds or acknowledge the message with another menu button)...

    Really ?

I recall reading that the auto shut off was the most despised features on a Subaru. You have to re-disable it using a menu choice every time you start the car. A previous software version had the disable hidden on a second level menu!

    Machinery's 20th

You're certain that it is 22tpi? I believe that 1/4-24 was once used on Harley motorcycles and is even available from KBC (https://www.kbctools.ca/itemdetail/1-372-116). Curiously, a 1/4-24 thread is used in the US Army's WWII vintage M94 cryptographic device.

    Really ?

Don't knock heated seats and steering wheel if you haven't tried it. Now heated floor mats may be excessive... What I can definitely do without is the idiotic automatic engine shut off when waiting for the light to change!

    New tracking at Amazon

Amazon uses several delivery services to here and the continuous tracking doesn't appear to be available for all of them. Perhaps tracking should be part of the new contract for the posties <G>.
