10 little things we hate about the internet.

Google used to offer a product that was wildly successful and led to significant revenue. But now that DoubleClick's reverse takeover is complete, they no longer choose to delight their customers, instead relying on lock-in and driving traffic to advertisements instead of providing user value...

A little (even further off-topic) more colour on the continuing enshittification of Google search: https://www.wheresyoured.at/the-men-who-killed-google/ The events recounted are around the same time I left a different division for the same reason - the move from technical leadership "business"...

    Tool DRO fitted.

I'm having the same doubt. The line of tape I applied to my cross-slide is coming away after about 6 months. A mess, frankly. I'm considering milling a shallow channel on the edge of the cross slide to accept the next piece and sort out some recessed cap screws to hold it captive at it's edges.

    What's Paul up to?

Made part 7, simple turning and threading, plus a hole aligned using part 4a from yesterday. It will recive a short pin which aligns with a hole on the plunger body. Also discovered I was turning tapers when using my tailstock - 8thou thou over 1"! Of course I found out by not checking the...

    Shop executor?

Yep. Some years prematurely, certainly, but I have a friend who knows the value and how to move it. Not a problem I want to leave my spouse with. Need to formalize that into the will, which needs updating anyways.
