  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Ah, a Baldor VFD. Maybe that's worth something. But right now, a CE (hahahah) 2.2 KW VFD is about $115, new. So the whole package would look like a deal at $125-150. But the Baldor VFD might change that.

    Thanks to a "color" selector on AliExpress that put 380V 3PH *inputs* in the same tab as 220V 3PH *inputs*, I have a 380V 3PH *input* VFD that will happily shift the frequency of the god-only-knows-where-you-find-it 380V 3PH *input* to variable frequencies. $100 OBO. Someone, somewhere, must...

    That's expensive for a used 1HP 3PH. Call Bob's Motor Electric and see what price he'd do for you new in 1.5HP. It's not 2x that price, almost certainly.
