Don't Use FedEx for Any International Shipments

This could be a seller/eBay specific issue. Ebay has gotten kind of stupid with their all encompassing shipping plans. Its way more clunky than it was prior years. I have listed things myself & you have to go through some gyrations to de-select all the hoops they want you to jump through by...

Don't Use FedEx for Any International Shipments

I have not had this issue with Fedex, sending or receiving, domestic or international. Tracking has been straightforward. Sometimes you get the post delivery dinger fees but that's all couriers unless the seller has some kind of prearrangement. I wonder if something is changing. One thing I'll...

    Low friction 3D filament

Maybe. So far threads have been so-so on my A1 for real life purposes but I also have not delved into print tuning too deeply. For one thing it would have to be near solid infill to take any kind of load. I hav enot seen plastic based nuts on machines other that lighter load 'positioning'...

Tips/Techniques New head for a TAIG

Nice work. I don't quite get the bearing layout, but don't take it personal. My brain fogs out on spindles - what is rigidly held, what floats, where the adjustment occurs... Do you have a sketch or can you use small words? LOL

    DavidR8's shop shenanigans

My lathe is similar in that regard. I used the existing holes on chuck side of cross slide & mounted my DRO plate there. It has a decent fitting guard over the scale. You can see the guard is close to oilers but still accessible. The right side of the cross table has the lock knob which I use...

    Webster I.C. Project.

The usual reaming recommendation is reduced speed & increased feed based on a similar size hole drilling. You want the pilot hole to be undersized enough so the flutes are cutting but not so small that the reamer is struggling or chips are packing. Different materials ream differently so just...

    Webster I.C. Project.

Do you mean a tapered reamer to cut the valve seat itself or reaming the main hole for the valve stem? What kind of material are we talking?
