    Need a bed surface ground.

I shimmed between the base, and the round column, which is directly underneath those bolts.

    Need a bed surface ground.

I got distracted and never came back to fill you guys in on my success. I dummied the process down after thinking about it a little more. I tightened the bolts in the same sequence each time i shimmed it a bit. The key to all of this was keeping the shims placed in the EXACT same spot...

    Need a bed surface ground.

Tom Kitta is 100 percent correct. As a journeyman autobody technician, I know for a fact that every material (being plastic, steel, cast iron) can be bent without cracking or fracture. I’ve encountered it numerous times on vehicles in an accident, or during restoration. Every part on a vehicle...

Unfortunately i lost all the before photos...my phone crapped the bed after the mill was completed. i will post a photo of where it used to be cracked tonight. is there a way to measure if the table is bowed or twisted? In theory, the shimming works. However, in practice, which I did for several hours, it is not as simple as just shimming one corner (i tried tgat method, and ended up with shims somewhere between two bolts actually).

The base was pretty smashed up, i took a chance on it and it works, just trying to get it dialled in the best I can. Not sure which other steps to take , i messed around with it and shims for hours. For the type of parts i will be building, it will suffice. That being said, if there is a way to...

For someone with a bit of time in Calgary...

I took a chance on it, and so far I can’t complain. It works great, and I can finally machine my own parts...something I have been wanting to do for years (but didn’t have the funds for). Any of you experienced With these machines would have walked away after seeing the condition of it - but I...

I’m pretty sure this is the one i bought for 300, and have about a million hours into restoring lol. it was ready for the scrapyard. The base was snapped and the unit had been dropped on its side in the past. This all being said, this will work just fine for the type of parts I will be machining.
