  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Thank you so much for all your replies. It is Damascus steel it is made of stainless steel with 200 layers of 304 and 316. It's hard but easy to machine on my mini lathe. Just need to cut my rod in small pieces (6-7). Here is a screenshot of what I do with it. I'm in Tuscany NW of Calgary.

    I can understand that question. You could have just asked me. I'm new to the site so obviously I'll learn to ask more precise question next time. Each pieces have to be around 10mm or 0.40 inch long. I make Timascus and Damascus rings if that is your next question.
