How to make hole for taper pin ?

In my case I would be using a 6mm at the small end and 7.4mm at the big end. These were everywhere on my PM mill so I have them in stock. Fast Google search turned up this reamer which made me think it was more of a popular size. Thanks

How to make hole for taper pin ?

That would be my plan. I would at least have 2 different size drill bits, 5.8mm and maybe a 6.something.mm. I have to take the pin and muck around with my depths and measure the pin at that same depth to get a better idea of the size of bit vrs the depth of cut. I am worried to break the reamer...

How to make hole for taper pin ?

Good idea. I will look for a smaller drill bit. I had thought about cutting th pin to length but it it tapped for ease of removal in the future. I know I really needed that feature when I took apart my mill. Thanks

How to make hole for taper pin ?

Hello people I want to drill a taper hole to use a taper alignment pin. The details are : Taper pin, 6mm small end, 7.4mm big end, 60mm length. I have these in stock from my PM mill rebuild. I can only go about 20 to 25 mm deep - blind hole, but leaving 35mm above is not an issue. This...

    Rpm Sensor (missing)

Good news, I had a electrician tech pass by the garage to fix his truck, I asked him about the electronics and in particular the rpm sensor in my mill. Seems like the rpm sensor was an add on either before or after the VFD. He did tell me that the rpm was a "Redlion" which is a quality company...

    Rpm Sensor (missing)

True ! As a hobbiest, I am going to tred slowly. I have a LOT of tools just not for milling lol

    Rpm Sensor (missing)

Nothing really, the big heavy z axis motor Al-510 has a stripped plastic gear, and probably needs an overhaul - it was removed and tossed in a box. The x axis motor is poorly mounted. I have a feeling these were removed to try to fit them to the new mill ... I found an adjustment nut inside the...

    Rpm Sensor (missing)

I just checked my Hitachi SJ-200 manual, and it does have the sensorless vector mode, so that is a great option. I thought the RPM sensor was just for the display but yes it makes perfect sense the VFD can adjust for load. My control panel does have a separate potentiometer that does control...

    Rpm Sensor (missing)

I get what you are saying. I guess the acronym I are looking for is VFD. When I purchased this mill there was no sensor just a harness that appeared to be torn - hence why I think there was a collision. I have searched "hall effect sensor" and found only the type where you install a magnet...
