    Scrap Metal Bin Score

    So @ my work, we have a fellow, who let's say...isn't exactly a poster child for Higher IQ Magazine... This toolbox, in all the years I've been there, faithfully sat upstairs in the maintenance room, minding it's own business...holding tools. Poster child, in a fit of frustration with something...

    Another This Old Tony recap...

    So this is a neat tool idea...will I make one? Probably, because I happen to have the parts in my stock Do I NEEEEEED one? Not likely...but I really enjoy making tools...and making tools for your tools is not foolish And it is hard to argue with the surface finish...

    FREE: VFD 4.0KW 220 SINGLE PH INPUT -> 220 3 PH OUTPUT...there is a catch though

    Pics will be added once I get home (posting this from work) Reason for the smoking deal?? It simply stopped working. It would click, turn the motor over a 1/4 turn and then stop. I tried to do a reset, and that didn't help. I'm not handy with electrical diagnosis in the slightest. It might...

    Crawford Lathe's 4 spd drive box woes...

    So I was turning a piece of stock for yet another project, and noticed that the Dominion Auto-Drive that the lathe is equipped with, has started to weep oil. My first assumption is its coming from one of the shaft seals. Has anyone ever worked on one of these gear boxes? Or made attempts to...

    Printed BXA tool holder

    Just thought I'd share cuz it's cool how easy a guy can prototype ideas I don't personally own a printer. But my brother does. Using something called "slicer" ? I think...he took the measurements of the tool itself, the negative of my BXA tool holder holders, and a similar design on...

    FS: Small Forge

    This is a home made propane bottle converted to another use forge... It has a ribbon burner with it. I did not build it. I have not tested it I don't think the hole pattern is decently laid out There is so much refractory inside this thing, it's gonna take my table crane to lift it Or one...

    SOURCING A VFD - WHERE DO YOU GO ?

    I'm just walking the cart out front of the horse, in regards to the new Induma mill. The motor on it is rated at 1-1/2hp, is a 3 phase, and I'm not sure of it's amperage at the moment (double dipping at work while researching) There are a lot of places to buy a VFD, and most of them seem like...

    Crawford lathe cone drive conundrum...

    I was checking out the Crawford, and noticed the bolts for the caps, that hold the spindle in place, seemed to be a little loose. Not surprising...as this thing is 100 years old...and at some point was taken apart and painted... Erring on the side of caution, I simply snugged them up. Now the...
