    Grizzly G1006 mill drill $1900

I have for sale a lightly used Grizzly G1006 that was manufactured in 2003. It has been stored for the last 14 years. This model is now called a G0705. Parts and the manual for the G1006 and the G0705 are nearly identical. Parts are readily available from Grizzly and they ship to Canada. Here’s...

    Tips/Techniques RF-45 clone vs King PDM-30

These are both large bench top mills, but a rectangle column mill compared to a round column mill seems like an unfair/off balance discussion. Not to mention that the RF45 weighs 300 pounds more than the PDM30. True enough, but it just so happens (that for 2 weeks) I have had both side by side...

Adding (welding) threaded rod to a splined motor shaft

Here’s an old motor that is now a buffer/polisher. Threaded rod was welded to the splined shaft to secure a buffer disc or wire wheel. In pic below, the threaded rod extension is clamped on and aligned by using a piece of angle: The indicator is set up on a bushing to check runout. A weight...

Tool End mill brought back to life

I ruined a 5/8” HSS EM yesterday. I had welded a SS bushing to mild steel. It worked fine and looked good but when I trimmed the weld it ruined the EM. Guessing some kind of heat-caused case hardening (regular steel MIG wire, not SS wire). It was not just dull but ready for the scrap bin. I had...

Tool Kijiji annular cutters+ KMS sales flyer deal

Alternate thread title: Are made-in-USA Slugger annular cutters better than Chinese ProPoint? (Jancy Slugger by Fein, USA) I chased down a Kijiji seller's poorly worded ad for Slugger annular cutters. No asking price was given; it was just "make an offer." Since it was a two-hour drive, I...
