  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     When I first started Tig welding it was a tungsten dipping marathon. To the point where I thought it was pretty lame, and left it to the side for awhile. I'm still a crappy amateur at best, but can usually go quite awhile without dipping(for the most part) I guess you just need to get through...

    To print with higher temps you just need so modify the firmware & change out the thermistor, make sure you have an all metal hotend... ;)

    You can't beat them for prototyping. A few cents for plastic and minimal effort is a lot better then $$$ for metal and hours of machining to realize you should have added some material here or there.(For guys that don't do it everyday anyways)

    Few minutes with a caliper, 10 minutes on fusion, and hour wait and I have this. I'll have to cut the Allen screws to length, but pretty solid for now.

    At least you got a big portion of it tho! I was thinking that was going to be a lot of chips lol I guess saving the slot right now gives you a good place the indicate the part so putting the new slot in square is easy?

    I have a couple that came with my south Bend, with the original owners initials. Also the original receipt & a hand written letter from SB to the original owner. Pretty cool cuz it's from ~1936? I believe it was.
