  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Miller 180 Autoset

Have you tried wrapping the ground lead around a large chunk of steel? My 250 sometimes has sporadic starts, it really likes the wire to be trimmed everytime. Never blowing holes or burning back unless tip is dirty tho. I tried adjusting the inductance slightly wrapping the ground lead but...

    Miller 180 Autoset

Mine was too, the problem is the small shaft and bushings in the wire drive motor gearbox on the 180 autoset You could grab the roller and wiggle it up and down a fairly large amount(maybe 1/4") so no matter how much the drive tension was tightened down it would still slip when running autoset...

    Miller 180 Autoset

If it is birdsnesting then the drive roll tension may be set too tight? Do you have a picture of how tight it's set? I would be very gentle with this adjustment as the 180 autoset I had egged the bushings & ruined the driveshaft in the wire feed gearbox and they are big $ to replace the whole...

    Car Rust

If you have a decent air compressor you could get a little spot blaster from princess auto or Canadian Tire. Blast away the rust, hit it with rust converter, zinc chromate primer & paint. Once the paints cured spray it with fluid film from the back If you just want cheap take a gallon of...

    Car Rust

You could fix it right to look 85% with a mig welder (if you have one, if not, well this option is obviously much less attractive) a few dollars in sheet metal a little filler, primer, and color matched paint. Or you could probably do just about anything else, spend more money, and have worse...

Milling machine stand for sale or trade

Unsure if you have it on Kijiji or not but Calgary Kijiji is a pretty good place for selling just about anything. If you don't get any biters, lower your price $25 every week or two or faster if you want to get rid of it.

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

"customer service" They owe you nothing if you didn't buy the lathe from them, as you were not their customer. If they simply supported, sold parts, helped customers fix xyz lathe because it looks similar why would anyone but Precision Mathews to begin with? When you buy PM you get their...

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

In fairness to them, they probably get a lot of parts bought like that, then the customer wants a refund when it doesn't fit, even though it looks the same. I know you said you would assume liability, but with the ability to get visa/PayPal to reverse the transaction they've probably been...
