  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year.     yup that's a monster, saw one on FB marketplace for 3k, must have been 2000lbs, I'm just not in the know, it took me a while to find a nice lathe. I guess I'm asking, what would you buy that you could live with until the kids inherit all your stuff?

    All I would need it to do is control the forward/reverse and speed, and put remote switches where the original switches are located, I have a belt driven lathe, but I don't think that matters much in the big scheme of things. It really doesn't look that complicated, but I am no electrician.

    Its been a while since I've been on this site, yes the first thing I did was put a QCTP on it, thank you. I have been researching VFD's but as long as the contractors still work I'll leave it alone and work on learning without loosing a finger or an eye, ;)
