Go to stores for tooling in Canada?

I don't think anyone has mentioned Grainger Canada. More of a higher end industrial supply, they have locations from Que. to BC. Website- https://www.grainger.ca/en

    Mill scale removal ?

For rust removal I have used muriatic acid and vinegar, they both are fast and effective, but I find the rust tends to come back later on with a vengence. I have used Coke, which is phosphoric acid, which chemically converts rust to a benign magnetite coating, but it is slow. It was fairly...

    New lathe choices in Canada

The PM lathe linked weighs 1000 lbs, and the 12x36 King weighs 700 lbs, so that would certainly tip the scales for me with all else being equal. I was going to mention the YUWE but I saw that this deal was discussed on another thread. As mentioned, no 4 jaw chuck, no faceplate or centers, and I don't believe either the video or specs mentioned anything about metric change gears. (maybe just an oversight?). But still seems to be a good...

Yes - a very stout lathe, here was another KBC lathe that they sell as their brand, 3HP, 2400 lbs a couple chucks and other goodies, and less than 10 grand, I searched for any first hand accounts from users with this lathe, but so far haven't found anything...

    New lathe choices in Canada

Thanks Crankit - Travers certainly has a large selection of machine tools. Looks like something there for everyone. With it shipping from the US, I would want to check if duties, brokerage fees, shipping costs etc would apply. ShawnR - I am in Muskoka (Central Ontario), and currently have a...
