  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

The TEFC motor will be great. I have a full shield behind my lathe to stop coolant and oil from spraying out across things. If tour lathe backs to the wall you should be a-ok. I will update you with some pics tomorrow. I still have a shield to make for Miss Metric so that will be posted at...

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

Just a note to maybe help : the motor on the Utilathe has the fan end exposed to where you are making chips. My Utilathes have “drip proof” motors (original to the lathe) that proved to suck in a lot of crap - mostly cutting oil vapour but I also pulled a drywall screw out of the windings...

    Lathe Spindle End- Play

When I rebuilt my Utilathe this was a big question so I went to the pros: https://cdn.skfmediahub.skf.com/api/public/0901d1968065f1f4/pdf_preview_medium/0901d1968065f1f4_pdf_preview_medium.pdf This explains a lot. Just like the wheel bearings in your car you can torque (load) the bearing and...

    Tool Morse taper drill bits

For the lathes and my drill press I use them all the time for rough boring and setting up for internal threads etc. I use the regular drills up to 1/2”’and the MT drills from 1/2” up to 1” in steps of 1/64”. If the bore needs to be precise I will drill just below the required diameter and...

parts for Black & Decker Router model 7610

@Tom Fitzpatrick : the router I have is a craftsman of the same kind of style. It has a double collet lock and the lock part is broken. Perhaps your router has a similar collet locking? If so, I could box this up and send it? The gearing on this router is steel. The rack is 3/8” wide.

    Brent Builds!!

So another update: Things are flying by and already half of January is in the past. Spend a couple days emptying more boxes and filling bins and pullout trays with parts and pieces: Built a stand for the Mitresaw that will have a couple drawers and another stack of part bins. The saw is level...

parts for Black & Decker Router model 7610

@Tom Fitzpatrick : I might have that router in a case with some other goodies - I will look tomorrow. If memory serves me, the collet lock/collet in general is NFG - if it is a match as a donar router I can ship it out to you. - just need to locate the case
