    8” 4 Jaw D1-3 backing

The one in your pics shows that it has the slots for the lathe dogs. Hard to say but a D1-3 integral face plate is cool. I have a D1-3 mount to a plate.

    8” 4 Jaw D1-3 backing

The D1-3 “adaptor” plate looks like the “face plate” the lathe came with and the 4 jaw was poorly adapted to it. Very cool to have the original face plate for a Utilathe. Just saying

So the 1020/1230 Utilathe swing more like 11 and 13. My gather is that “bigger was better” so the 10/12 were re-named the 11/13 series 2000 and then just on from there. The 12/14/16 STD lathes are a complete different animal. I will post what I can about the lathes. Will take a bit to Get all...

@BaitMaster - are there any specific parts you need drawings for? My old threads should have most of the drawings for items I needed to replace. If not I can send you copies of my sketches

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

@BaitMaster - my one lathe is U350. @YYCHM commented before that mine sunk in WWII - hahaha. So perhaps we are a mere thousand lathes apart?

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

@BaitMaster, I cut the material with a plasma cutter and did the bending by clamping a piece of angle iron to my bench and working the material. I have a box brake on order so that should speed up my next build. I will make another one for the metric lathe. I made up some cardboard templates...

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

@David_R8 the “splash” is 18 gauge stainless steel but 20 would be super fine to use with support. The heavier gauge is nicer to weld. The stainless was from a hospital cabinet job - I have also cut the fronts off old dishwashers for the stainless;)
