    Product Anchor Lube...

Used it the other day, drilling and tapping a blind 6/32 hole in the rim of a finished back-lit dome. A bit hairy, blind hole in 1/8” material, and at a slight angle. Used it, again, mostly because I didn’t have to worry about it spreading and contaminating the front face of the piece. Screw...

    Product Anchor Lube...

I like it for materials like plastics, etc, or for finished parts I need to make a small revision to (drill tap etc.) because of the water solubility, and lower likelihood of an unexpected reaction down the road (versus cutting oils). The tendency to stay put instead of spreading is handy as...

    Anyone fabricate Excello 602 riser?

I'm going to Ottawa for work next month, 7th-10th, and I have to admit, I found myself wondering if I could swing by and pull the riser out... I'll give it some thought. If he'd let me use the forklift, it wouldn't be too bad. If I have to fix the forklift before I can use it, uhhh...

    Anyone fabricate Excello 602 riser?

I guess I'm not picking it up in my Yaris, then!

    Anyone fabricate Excello 602 riser?

Hey Dan, not sure if you got anywhere with this. Just spotted an Excello (missing the head) being parted out, with a riser. Ad says they’re in Toledo, Ontario. Maybe someone’s around there? https://www.facebook.com/share/PNXBjmCPS2jYPnrW/?mibextid=79PoIi

    Shipping from UK

Similar. Coming back from the UK in the mid 90’s with my parents, my mother bought a cast iron rabbit, to my recollection in the airport. It was posed sitting up on its hind feet, ears up, say, 10” tall. Went into a carry-on bag. When they ran it through the X-ray there was a lot of muttering...

    Shop Stuart’s big dumb thread

Minor addition: Finally picked up a toolbox stack. I’ve heard complaints about Kennedy boxes, but so far they suit me fine. My intention is to copy the setup I have at work, with the drawers holding the same things, or at least types of things. The less time spent trying to remember where I...

    Best place for gas?

GTA area: Confirmed the other day that Camcarb, in North York (400 between Finch and Steeles), will fill user owned bottles. I was checking on argon, didn't think to ask about other gases. They show a pretty normal range on their website, though. Downside, it's drop off, pick up later when...

    Shop Stuart’s big dumb thread

I appreciate the optimism, Dan. I have my doubts some (most) days. I’ve been meaning to deal with material storage for years, and I think the west wall is the spot. Unfortunately, that’s the only non-masonry wall in the room, so I can’t just epoxy anchors into it (I don’t think my neighbour...

    Shop Stuart’s big dumb thread

My thinking is thus: I don’t generally have lots of free time, at this point in my life. Work eats up 50+ hours a week, I get some sleep occasionally, and help friends and family with things. So, I’d like a space where I can get going in as little time as possible. I made a list a while ago...
