  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Back in the 70’s…. 1978 for example a 350 chev made about 190hp. Now a v8 makes 400hp. Modern 400hp v8’s do well into 20 mpg.

    Keep in mind 99 percent of the guys with a good garage have good stuff in it and don’t want it showcased. Advertising your 2k tv and 5k stereo is one thing but 200k of tools and toys with your address is another.

    Not knocking the effort, simply the worth of the effort. Personally I feel some things are best left “unfixed” and may prove as a learning experience for others. I.E. Don’t run your gear into the ground and you won’t be walking……

    Not all Rolex dealers make you spend money. I didn’t. I know for a fact the Ottawa dealer (Howard’s I believe) does this.
