    Tips/Techniques Thermal overload relay

Bought a cheap clamp on Fluke meter and it arrived today. Should have bought one sooner. I’ve played with caps but can’t get the amps down. Best I can do is T1 5.1 amps, T2 4.9 amps and ghost leg 4.2 amps. Voltages under lathe load are T1-Ghost 235, T2-Ghost 245, T1-T2 244 Adding caps just...

    Tips/Techniques Thermal overload relay

Thanks for all the advice. It just bothers me that this was probly designed to work the way it is and I can’t make it yet. I will buy a clamp on meter to test with. Rona plus has a Fluke for half price :) Pic of lathe motor name plate for reference.

    Tips/Techniques Thermal overload relay

Working on setting up my diy phase converter. Legs are balanced. Pony runs smooth. The issue I am tracking down is the thermal overload relay tripping. It now takes about 3 mins to trip and cut power to the machines and used to trip out in 30 seconds or less. I will assume the relay is stock...

New KMS Tools location opening this fall in Saskatoon

I know a guy that owned a Giant tiger locally. He lost 80k a year in theft. Giant tiger corporate doesn’t want owners to prosecute theft as it looks bad. He sold it. This is the reward of business ownership in canada

    Bitter/Sweet New Truck

I’m a sucker for a new vehicle. I’m 48 and have had 6 new trucks so far and 1 new car. My first new truck was a 2011 ram. It was $24995 no freight, no admin as per dodge deal. 4x4 4 door. Sticker on this one was just over $90k. How times have changed… I have also had some pre 1998 12 valve...

    Bitter/Sweet New Truck

Traded the old TRX this week. Sad to see 700hp go away but they gave me $107000 for it with 29000kms and 2.5 years of fun use. Got a new 2025 Rebel X. Interior actually has an even bigger screen, and passenger screen you can play games or watch movies on. Never been a vette fan but planning on...

    New Idler Motor

Found a nice 5HP idler motor to make fake 3 phase power today. Not bad for $100. Guy said I could have it but I paid his asking price. Compressor seized on him but motor is smooth.

If you could own just one special vehicle what would it look like?

In 5-10 years I may be thru 2-4 more vehicles lol. Ram said TRX is coming back with more power. Question is red eye or hellephant… That will dictate if I build this or upgrade.

If you could own just one special vehicle what would it look like?

Luckily if you buy the right vehicle a lot of the emission problems aren’t there. Also with the right vehicle you can actually turn all nannies off fully which is a rareity these days. I should add I’m gen X lol
