    Replacing oil lines

The fact that these fittings were used on flexible line, I don't think the ferrules distorted much . If you can pull the ferrule or the tube insert and remove the flexible tubing, I would just clean them up and re-use the fittings.

    L00 backing plate

I had thought of making my L0 backing plate but couldn't come up on how to do the keyway. I don't have a broach kit, never used one and looking at your last picture I realized you had to make a tapered plug to be able to use the broach. I totally overlooked that step of the process. Well done...

Link Belts - Type A or Type Z

Compared a new and the used belt on my mill. It is difficult to measure accurately , but visual I can tell the new belt is by about a 1/16" higher. I remember the belt needed to be adjusted a few times before it settled. Probably because it was not used much at full load. . The instructions...

Link Belts - Type A or Type Z

That is a good price, I remember paying close to $20/feet about 10 years ago for my Atlas 618. It does look a bit high on the pulley. They do wear in a bit. I had to adjust the link belt on my mill after a few hours of use. I will have a look at it tomorrow. I think have some spare new links...

fixing the digital caliper battery drain

I usually pick up my 357 battery pack from the dollar store, maybe that explains why they don't last. They usually last about 6 month to a year, it's not bad. I was just looking for something to 3D print and this one was quick to print and install. I have read some complaining that their...

fixing the digital caliper battery drain

I was looking for a 3D print project and came across this caliper battery saver. It look like simple solution , compare to some modification I have seen were they wire in and mount a micro switch. Here is the link https://www.printables.com/model/2671-caliper-battery-saver/comments The print...

    New to me colchester lathe

It turn out really nice and you sure didn't waste anytime getting her done. I didn't noticed it was a gap bed model. Bonus! I take mine out every now and then. Unfortunately I don't have a face plate and use a chuck, which doesn't leave much room in the gap area. I have a spare L0 mount, which...

    Tool Lathe Stops

You might be able to take advantage of the rack just below to solidly lock the plastic lathe stop in place. I always found it difficult to use plastic for clamping stuff. My Zyliss bench vise has some plastic soft jaws and I was never able to clamp much with it.

South Bend 10K Horizontal Drive Bushings Replacement

You can probably use the same thread rod set up to pull the new bushing in. I sometimes like this threaded rod puller better than using a hydraulic press, because I have a better feel of the force applied.
