    CX601 disassembly

This is probably obvious, but so that others may learn from my errors, always take the time to take off the x, y, & z handles/knobs -- even if you think you can easily handle the table/column/machine or you think the machine will be strapped down super well and there's no way it could ever fall...

I have both those types of indicator holders as well, the 'bars' type (not actually its technical name, probably) and the articulated one. They can both be tedious and infuriating, for different reasons -- But having said that, they're also capable of getting you where you need to go. Sasquatch...

I was really close to buying a Kurt scratch and dent before Christmas as well, while cross-shopping with Shar's Taiwan-made Tegara line at ~$320USD. With shipping, the Kurt vises start to seem more reasonable, because they do a flat $50USD shipping rate to Canada, whereas Shar's shipping was...

I think you're asking about a process called 'tramming' your vise. It's a pretty simple procedure once you get used to it, but you'll need a dial indicator and a way to hold it. No need for the level, just use the back side of your vise jaw as a reference against the travel of your ways and get...

Flying Merkel Ebike and Sidecar with Experimental Motor Design

Well, the upside to using TIG for building lugs is you get to grind away your welds and no one sees them :D
