a little excitement in my day

Something to always remember. Be careful what you say to the police if involved in an incident. The way you choose your words can make a big difference. If it is something serious, try to be polite and mention that you have just been involved in a serious incident and you are still shaken up...

Tool Any idea what this would have been used for?

    3D printed sensitive drill press

I think raising the weight of the table plus the weight of the part takes away from the sensitive part of the operation. Sherline makes a sensitvie drilling attachement. I have used this with good results.

type of drill needed to make holes in aluminum

I did 255 pop cans, ends only. 1.5" with a wood bit in a drill press. Made a clamp to hold the can. (I would not even think about holding the can. If the bit catches the thin side of that can could do a lot of damage.) Slowly lowered the points of the wood bit into the can and it cut...

Tales from the S-100 dark side.

Wasn't too sure where to post this, but this thread seems like a good place. Sad news. Almost 50 years old now and... The End of an Era: Zilog Discontinues the Z80 Microprocessor https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/news/end-of-era-zilog-discontinues-z80-microprocessor/
