  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    One of the fire systems we put in a couple garages was the Elide fire balls. They work. Easy to install. Basically install and forget about em. I'm thinking of putting them in my garage. They are a chemical suppressant so likely to damage things but way better then fire taking the structure.

    Here are some pics. Took me about 10 minutes to design in tinkercad. Printer all of them in about 13hrs with 35,,%, infill. Cheap white pla. Not sure the strength. Maybe better to print in petg.

    I have an 80 dollar one off amazon and won't go back to other methods. It is unreal how easy it is to setup and use. I am no expert, still I think it is a great tool. I used mine multiple times to find center with my rotary table.

    Full print mando helmet, supports came off clean. 22 hr print with pla using 15% infill. Ultra cheap pla I got off amazon. 0.2 layer height.
