  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Finishing parts

I converted a treadmill and 6" PVC pipe into a 2 gallon, wet tumbler using stainless pins and dish soap to clean carbon fouling. The vibratory tumbler with corn media is now used only to redistribute sizing wax. There is something inexplicably soothing about draining the wet brass from the...

Truing work in the 4 jaw chuck

OK, so I really want to ensure I'm doing this correctly, so please everyone that sees me doing, or even appearing to do something stupid, please call me out and save me from my ignorance and obstinance; very much appreciated! Truing work in the 4 jaw chuck

Very timely for me. Thank you! I spent a few hours practicing yesterday; centreing as best I could with all available patience, turning, re-chucking the other end and repeating until my toes froze. My touch at easing off the 4 jaw chucks is getting better, but I never got all 4 lined up so...

    Robot Arm

Could you do almost all of it in one mount: 1) mount a longer than needed piece of stock 2) turn outside surface 3) bore first end 4) face 1'st end 5) back bore opposite end 6) part off 7) re-mount other end, does not need to be aligned with first mounting 8) face 2'nd end, This is all...

    Elliot Omnimil 00 (motor options?)

I think you should ask me to come and get it out of your way... ;) Since the magic smoke is still in place, could the output shaft be replaced or repaired better to reduce vibration to an acceptable level?

    Elliot Omnimil 00 (motor options?)

if you don't take the good advice to switch to 3PH with VFD, could you add a spacer to provide sufficient clearance? Either raise the top, or extend the motor back reducing compactness.
