Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans.     Oh, it was complaining!! Through hardened. And it seemed harder near the neck. You can see where the insert wouldn't cut that area and left a bulge. I was able to reduce it a bit with the cut-off blade running it like a turning tool.

    Of course, it wasn't the best set up, but it was quick and dirty, well, maybe just dirty!! I used carbide inserts. I have CBN inserts, which would have been optimal, if I had the D inserts, which I don't. I also had to reverse the direction of carriage travel, and angled the insert tool...

    I need to cut a 3/4" t-slot (sort of), very close to a tall vertical wood surface. The endmills I have aren't long enough, and the collet chuck won't let me get close enough. But, I can chuck my ER11 collect chuck in the ER40 collet chuck, and chuck the key cutter. Except the cutter is a 1/2"...

    There are no flutes the whole length so I was thinking a roll tap (form tap). But that short section at the front makes me think its a chasing tap for slightly damaged threads. I have something similar for shotgun screw-in chokes. But then why would you need the drill bit??

    The freakin' bone heads!! That center screw speads the two halves to facilitate ease of installation. Once in position, you back that screw off completely before tightening the other screws to clamp the unit to the column.

    I'd stay away from linseed oil, boiled or not. That stuff is not waterproof and almost never realy dries. Go tung oil. Easy to apply, deep penetration, waterproof, thoroughly dries, and beautiful results.

    Cursive writing. In 20 years, all documents and letters with cursive will be relagated to the same classification as hieroglyphics. There will be scholars hired to interpret such documents. Universities will have a history course: Ancient Languages: How to Decipher Cursive.
