Cyclical Mill Vibration & Power Discussion

So if its unlikely to be electrical, I'm thinking the likely culprit is vibration at the machine's structure's natural frequency. Can you change motor speed easily or take the belt, even the take the pulley off ..... things that might cause the vibration Re oscilloscopes, I picked one of...

Tips/Techniques 3 ph to single phase

If the challenge is 1P to 3P at higher voltages, there is also RPC with a 3P transformer afterward. Low cost and run as machine machines as you like. That's what I've done for 600V machines. Cost was was about $250 for a used transformer, but that was a few years ago. There is stepping up...

    Tool Identifying this dial indicator

Digital holds two advantages imo, easy to set to zero and easy to work in imperial or metric. No advantage accuracy wise that I can think of and a disadvantage in that you don't get the movement of the hand. That is very nice for some things were you are just comparing, like aligning a vise...

    Something off with Vevor

Me too, but they have 1000's of suppliers. Great stuff in one genre does mean the next item will be any good, they don't seem to have much QA (any surprise there?). The electrical enclosures I've bought were really good, first class. But their stainless laundry tubs?. 1st pic is the Moen...

    Lapping granite?

A man sized project! Have you a autocollimator or interferometer (and all the fixin's)? I think you'd need either that or something better than A to compare to. I've not lapped granite but I suspect it's an exercise of localized removal in specific spots as you map and remap with the...
