  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     I have a Hobart Handler 135 mig for sale. It works well. Included are four mig tips (.023 and .030), a spare gas shield, 2 pound roll of .023 wire, an adaptor for 11 pound mig wire rolls and a Smith CO2/Argon regulator. It is currently set up for .023 wire. The cart is not included. $375.

    May I suggest that as you start bending that you record on a note pad where you started the bend, how far you cranked in the bending rolls, how many cranks of the handle to do the bend and what your piece length is before bending. I learned this was invaluable in perfecting your bending...

    I got three for Christmas awhile back. They are really neat. No more stuff popping out like a spring when pressure applied. I have a brass jaw, a nylon jaw and a curved jaw for bending circles and ovals. They do everything I needed so far. mine came from the UK.

    I planned the same initially but now I'm considering leaning my plate against the far end of my biggest steel rack moving the plates with my engine hoist which is equipped with narrow outriggers. I didn't want to be pushing a cart loaded with a ton or so of plate now that I am over the hill.

    We cut 1/4" X 4" flat bar with my King Canada portable bandsaw mounted in the SS-8377 Saw stand. Each cut took 90 to 100 seconds each. The saw has a 5"X5" capacity when used free hand and a maximum of 4" wide in the stand.
