  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year.     Sometimes it isn't about ROI it is about capacity. Let's say for example you can't find employees willing to work third shift or weekends. The robot can fill in the gaps and get your machine hours up. Many companies are limited by space or time.

    That material handling robot is really tiny. My guess is accuracy is only about .03" The part gets positioned against the stop without bumping it because the end of arm tooling is somewhat spring loaded. The robot will gently apply spring pressure while the work holding clamps the part.

    I bought a wiring harness from Painless Wiring and got that installed. I regretted throwing the old wiring harness almost immediately. This one is going to be much more reliable so I guess it is better that I decided to replace everything. But wow that was allot of work.

    This morning I made a handful of nuts for my strap clamp set. They are good high carbon steel so they should outlast a regular nut. I machined them out of round stock and made them to match the cheap strap clamp set for the milling machine.
