    Show us your shops!

Many decades ago, I started as a carpenter. The garage repair took lifting the header as well replacing the door frame, that is where the engineer came in. The framing itself is simple. Getting matching vinyl siding will be difficult, the stuff fades . Your sawsall will get a work out on the...

How good/bad is your 3 jaw chuck

I think I remember reading anything under 3 thou was considered good. My unknown 8" om my lathe is a couple out. I wasn't too careful in my checking, either. . My guess it is an aftermarket. 12 x 36 lathe vibration

Their sides bulge a little. They grip better. Belts require serious alignment, which they rarely get. We never likely to find them in out little machines. They tend to be used in multiplies,. They would joke that when they fired up the big gang saws the lights in the town would dim. We don't...

Tool Good Quality Files and where to purchase them?

Draw filing is for looks, as it can throw your accuracy out. The English were really into fitting, millwrights are called fitters even, which involves filing and scraping. I'm ashamed to say some of my files are in such bad shape you can use them as mirrors.
