  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    It was one of those cheap 2000 lbs atv winches that Costco used to sell. The planetary gears get it down to a bearable speed. I basically watched a ton of YouTube videos and took an idea from here and several from there until I was satisfied that it would be more than a one weekend project...

    I bought a cheap one from either princess auto or kms, can't remember for sure. Beefed if up a bunch and haven't been back to it to actually put it to work yet. Although, I did buy a bunch of new dies a few days ago, so maybe I am getting closer to getting back at it.....

    Time to take up fly tying...... The head cement will bring back the same memories and you can go down to the stream and catch lunch...... And if you don't live close enough to a nice stream, you might want to think about that. :rolleyes: ;)
