    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Moving along. I started welding the parts that I made from 1/2" steel stock. The larger section was welded with 7018 rod and the smaller tags were welded with the same machine set up for TIG. I TIG welded the tangs on the aluminum motor base plate. I don't do a lot of stick welding, but it...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Next on the list, motor and drive. I have a 1725 RPM 1/3 HP motor that came with the machine that I am going to work with. I have to make up a motor mount and jack shaft support for both. I want to use the Atlas 7b jack shaft bracket that I purchased from ebay. With a little measuring I...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

A little more progress. One of the things missing from this machine is the rear guard for the Ram. At first I thought possibly it never had one, but once apart and the paint had been removed I noticed 2 sheared bolts at the upper back of the casting. I like working with stainless steel, it...

A little more progress. Repaired the Z Axis lock. Made up oil cup sleeves. If this didn't pan out I was going to try adding solder to the threads to build up the diameter of the oil cup insert. TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada

At this point of the restoration I made a template for the base before it was bolted to the body of the shaper. I am coming to a conclusion that the damage to the clapper box was not from a crash hitting the work, but rather the machine fell over as several parts that I have been cleaning have...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Thank you. That now puts it all in perspective, I know now what I need to get to build it. The exploded drawing makes sense. TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada.

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Thanks, the exploded is good, but I cannot figure out a left or right side view to see the placement and how it is all laid out. TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Does anyone have an Atlas 7b? If so could you post some shots of the belt drive for me. In 2012 without looking too much at the machine ( I thought it was an Atlas not an Ammco) I purchased this jack shaft and base on ebay thinking it was for my machine. Since I have nothing I want to use...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

What is wrong with this picture? Answer, I installed the RAM backwards and had to take the drive arm apart again to reverse it. TonyK Grimsby Ontario Canada.
