Cincinnati No 2 Cutter Grinder Restoration

John can you post a few pictures of the machine. I have a Cinci #2 and the darn thing is top heavy. It toppled over when I picked it up, lucky it fell towards the lawn and only bent one of the hand wheel shafts. I grind all of my engine valves on it. Takes a bit to set up, but once there...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

As stated a few posts back the ratchet advance mechanism was missing from this machine. It looks like the previous owner started on making the ratchet, but only got so far and then sold the machine to me in 2012. I will start with the parts that were supplied with the machine, they were a bit...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Yes 5/8"-11. I suppose I could have used another bolt size and thread pitch, then bush down, but seeing that the table hole is .625" I drilled and threaded the vise accordingly. TonyK Grimsby Ontario Canada.

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

It is a simple as it gets. A 5/8"x 11 pitch 3 inch long bolt. The spacer on the bottom of the table is there so that the bolt does not protrude through the bottom of the vise. The hole on the table is size on at .625". TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada.

New to me Ammco 7" Metal shaper

Well if Jacques was there, I know what ever was done, really didn't need to be looked at, he was that kind of guy. Too bad he retired and went to the east coast with his daughter. A very good contractor that I enjoyed working with/for. TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada.

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Moving ahead, I started fitting the Z Axis screw. I chose a Brass Screw rather than a steel one. The hand wheel came from China. The stainless adapter plate was missing from the machine. I have always had a passion for Stainless Steel. Difficult to work with, but a dream to TIG weld. Here...

New to me Ammco 7" Metal shaper

Okay, this is getting a bit scary. Yes I have Cincinnatti #2 took grinder that came out of Barton High School Hamiton. One of the neat things about being an Electrical Inspector is that I get to meet a bunch of great people and get into fascinating places and people were always kind enough to...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Wow, looks complete. Post 1941 era, why oh why does that manual have to be on the machine blocking my view? Now what else is that line shaft powering, small Atlas Milling Machine maybe? It is apparent that whom ever took these pictures does not under stand the word obsession. Oh where do...
