    Belt Sander Electrocution

Okay the video has established that the spark jumping is not 120 volt fed from the grid. This is a static discharge, high voltage to jump 1/4" but flat from current. Direct your efforts to static discharge resolution. TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada.

    Belt Sander Electrocution

Electricity only flows because of difference in electrical potential. You have two choices. Isolate from the unit or become part of the unit. All sounds strange to me. If it is not part of the electrical grid standing on a conductive mat tied to the machine is the preferred way to go. If...

Tools of the Trades, Oct 6, 2024, Pickering Ontario

Seeing your pictures and what you purchased, could you please tell me what this item is? The reason that I am asking is because a neighbour now retired machinist gave me a lot of his measuring tools, taps, tap handles and other set up tools and I cannot figure out what this tool is. I...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Thank you for your post. I have looked into what is happening for stroke adjustment and have found the following. Machine torn down, and main drive shaft removed. The crank slider was bent and prevented adjustment. It appears that at some time in this machine's life heating of the slider...

I think you are on to something here as I have taken the drive shaft from the bull gear and mounted it in the bench vise. The centre shaft pulls toward the drive side nut to lock the stroke slider. Ignorance may have caused a lot of this problem on my part. Will report back tomorrow after...
