Do these work on all sizes of zip ties or are they for a certain size? I don't even own a pair and wish I had bought a pair years ago!

    India stone grinding jig

I am assuming that using a surface grinder works differently than using something like this https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/sharpening/stones/55067-truing-stone-for-water-stones?item=08M1530 or wet dry paper on a surface plate? That is how I flatten my sharpening stones for my wood...

    Garbage Steel

Less stress is doesn't mean no stress. This can happen even with hot rolled. Also it could be slightly bent and still mic the same sown its length. You can have two parallel surfaces that are curved so the thickness does not need to be different in a gradual bend.

Tool Cheap alternatives to expensive tools thread

I reverse engineered a 100' radial stacker (conveyor for making large piles) for a company years ago using this exact technique. They had access to one and wanted to build one just like it but measuring the original would have meant to much down time. So i did some quick measurements of key...

New to me ZX45 milling machine

So far there has been a lot of learning on this project and I love it. One thing I learned and will file away for the future is that cutting glass scales to length really isn't hard. Just takes patience and being careful. It's definitely not something to be scared of.

New to me ZX45 milling machine

I won't say how many hours I spent figuring this all out  but it is now reading just under .001" over the span of 18". You are right there was an issue with the end bracket. So long story short I shortened the scale to the exact length of the bed then had to drill and tap new holes for...

New to me ZX45 milling machine

Well a bit of an up date and more of a head scratcher. I was playing around removing shims and taking measurements when I had the idea to flip the scale around end for end. In theory it should then read that it the middle is bowing out since before it was bowing in. Well it doesn't. It just...

New to me ZX45 milling machine

The table is straight the scale is curved. The reason it is currently shimmed out .020" at the one end is I was trying to get the ends to be the same reading before I payed closer attention to the dial indicator as it was crossing the middle and that is when I realized it had a bow. I will take...

New to me ZX45 milling machine

Here is a pic of how it is mounted. The read head is not yet mounted since I am still trying to fin tune getting the scale into the right position. The direction that it is slightly bowing in is in and out not up and down. In other words I would need to put a shim in the middle between the table...
