Running Linux and which version in order to run WINE or some other WIN-7..WIN-10 option.

Updates, especially security updates, cost money. These days Microsoft basically gives the desktop OS away (yes there is a license agreement etc.), and makes money mostly from corporations. Trust me I know because I pay for it in my day job. Linux distributions that have similar models, also...

Running Linux and which version in order to run WINE or some other WIN-7..WIN-10 option.

All recent machines use a standard called UEFI. Both Windows and Linux have tools to allow you to configure the boot options that it sees and whether it should prompt you to choose, or boot into an OS automatically. The choice can also be overridden on a one time basis during the boot...

Running Linux and which version in order to run WINE or some other WIN-7..WIN-10 option.

I don't think it is right to say that there is one proper way. There are advantages and disadvantages to every approach. But virtual machines are free, except for your time, and offer a lot of flexibility. In fact all cloud providers use and offer only virtual machines commercially, and...

Running Linux and which version in order to run WINE or some other WIN-7..WIN-10 option.

Running Linux and which version in order to run WINE or some other WIN-7..WIN-10 option.

It depends on which flavor of Linux, but in short you choose a hypervisor and install it. It will have some sort of control program - with a GUI or command line or both. You decide which part of your hardware you want to dedicate to your virtual machine, and then connect virtual devices like...

Running Linux and which version in order to run WINE or some other WIN-7..WIN-10 option.

WINE is a sub-system for linux that allows programs compiled for Windows to run on Linux. Running a virtual machine will run a whole copy of Windows (or any other OS) as a task on Linux. You would then run your program from that OS.

    Can you drill a magnet?

When drilling into hard brittle material, support is critical. You can get it by drilling a small hole far from the edge, or by adding confinement. In the same way that wrapping wood in cord or leather keeps it from splitting along the grain, some sort of clamping can make a big difference...

    Another dumb question

Can you? Sure, as long as there is a way to hold the tool securely. There is nothing magic about it. But you need to be able to hold your tool securely, and it takes extra steps to ensure that the elevation and rake angle are reasonable. A picture of what you are trying to hold, and what you...
