    Machine Induction forge failure

I don't have one on hand. I'll see if one jumps into my shopping cart sometime soon!

    Machine Induction forge failure

That sounds eminently sensible. At the same time, I'm concerned that the current sensor generates enough current to heat these wires - I'm going to have to go understand how these work instead of just "kinda knowing". Replacing with bigger wire requires disassembly into wrapped toroids which...

    Machine Induction forge failure

I don't see anything there - they just run loosely inside the case. They may have been damaged during the shipping mess and it took a while of heavy use for the problem to surface. I'm going to run it for a while and then inspect the wires closely and see if anything is happening.

Tips/Techniques Wall covering in garage shop.

My city shop is 1/2" ply up to about 5', the drywall, exactly for this reason. 5' instead of 4' because my concrete kerb at the bottom is exposed and almost 12". My country shop has 3/4" sheet standing upright fastened to the wall girts. 1/2" was too flimsy to span the two girts comfortably...

    What's Paul up to?

Got back from my travels with some horrid viral crap. Now a couple of weeks later I'm well enough to be back in the shop. Got a bit of time in the smithy today: Not much to look at, but it is forge welded from 5 separate pieces. The upper stems got some aggressive form work, which I need to...

Shop it seems simple, but I need help........ Hammer organization

A bag. A bag is the traditional unit of hammer storage. This is considered a very smart way of storing hammers, and thus the aphorism.
