  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Morning Gary I’m a little late seeing this thread - but your last picture indicates you have not done the install yet. - so here’s how I installed the X scale (Y & Z have lots of room and thus a bit easier) I have an X power feed limit switch at the front, so I put the X dro scale/reader at the...

    Rock Tumbler

My grandfather was mtce manager at the Silver Bell in Cobalt, the town where my mom was born. My father worked u/g at the 'Bell'. WWII made it a long-distance romance but they married when he returned from overseas. That sort of explains my rocky background and why I ended up a mining engineer...

    Tips/Techniques Thank you thread.

A very big THANK YOU :-) to all those who keep this Forum running/operating so seamlessly/consistently and easy for us like-minded hobby guys to enjoy. I particularly like how easy it is to add a picture to a thread. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. The Forum started in the...

    Plasma cutter for under $300!!

Yes the plasma cutter has a built-in regulator - but there is big difference between the 70psi it needs and a compressor that goes to 150psi.

CA-ALL Harfington Industrial Supplies (McMaster Carr alternative)

Yep - but that is seldom my priority when buying tools or shop stuff. Birthday flowers for SHMBO - cheapest is fine.

CA-ALL Harfington Industrial Supplies (McMaster Carr alternative)

About a week ago I was looking for a pair 6" green silicon carbide grinding wheels (fine and coarse grits). I found several silicon carbide wheels to choose from but few of the better quality green silicon carbide. I stumbled onto Harfington (www.harfington.com) which appears to be a similar...
